Yeah you got silicone right??? acrylic might work but would take days to dry and I think it would be too hard. Unreinforced silicone is pretty flexible.
Mask off 2" above and 1" below your bottom radius in your bowl. Might have to clean with alcohol to get the tape to stick. Then apply some frekote with a cotton ball and let dry.
Get a acid brush or china brush handy. Cut 80% of the tip off the caulk tube and squirt into the radius then dip the brush in water and smooth the bead you squirted. Silicone dries quick. And released pretty easily. Try to get a straight angle of a fillet like a 45 fillet. When it drys peel the tape up and the silicone ring in one piece and trim the edges to the tape line. You’ll have a ring of silicone that fits tightly into the mold.
Cut a diagonal slit on the long side to allow to shrinkage and expansion.
You can use inside your infusion bag by releasing and wrapping in peel ply. Or use bare in a double bag.
This will force the fabric into the corner and with a double bag you can push with full vac during debulk and leak down check. Then kill vac in the second bag while it infuses to allow the resin to get into the corners and then hit it with full vac to press excess resin out thus pushing the fabric tighter.
General purpose silicone works in low to medium service temps. Try lighting it on fire an you’ll see what I mean. In the future you can also reinforce silicone with carbon to make a les flexible tool.
Simple use of silicone 101!
