Using 105 resin with 207 special coating hardner which sometimes dry clear and sometimes with a yellow color. Any helpful tips, or let me know what we are doing wrong for it drying yellow, mixing correct amount and mixing Thanks. Says to mix one full stroke of resin for every stroke of hardner, using mini pump set.

You need to use multiple light coats. If you put it on too heavy it will dry yellow. I learned this the hard way too.
What I have started doing is since West System is great epoxy but expensive, I use it to do the fisrt layup coat and then use Silmar 249 surfboard resin to do subsequent coats. You can lay that on as heavy as you like and it stays clear.

Is the silmar 249 an epoxy? Is it a 1:1 ratio or a 2:1? Does it say if it is UV stable? Does silmar have a website? Thanx.
Silmar 249 is a polyester resin and should be treated as such. It gets mixed with MEKP as does any other poly. I clearcoat my stuff with automotive clearcoat so that takes care of any UV issues.
We clear coat our epoxy for the U.V. protection as well. We use Awl Grip. It is popular with the boat builders here in Miami, but we’re looking for something better. What brand of clear coat are you using?
For our smaller items we use RM 1K clear coat. Save time with cleaning a gun comes in an aerosol can.

In regard to Silmar surf board resin is the 249 wax free, or do you lay up everything in one go, and not need to worry about the wax, that I think is in some types of Silmar surf board resin systems?

If for real small parts, I like to use Krylon Crstal clear rattle can spray paint, but it is a bit thin coating.
