Vacuum line T'd to resin inlet line

I am planning to do my first infusion with MTI tubing. They state that the resin will eventually block the membrane thereby cutting off the vacuum from the pump. I am doing a relatively large part, around 65 sq ft and doubt I will be able to eliminate every single leak. Has anyone teed a second vacuum line into resin inlet line (with valves or clamps) and once the part is fully infused maintained the vacuum on that side? How did it work?

It is correct that the resin will close the pores of the membrane when it hits the membrane. But you don’t need any vacuum on the part after infusion, thats why we developed the MTI hose. After infusion the vacuum will only cause problems like pinholes, resin less areas, an inhomogebius laminate, voids…
Type MTI in youtube and watch the how it works video to understand the physic. If you have any furter questions we will help you.
You can also post a picture of your part and layup so that we can help you with your infusion setup.

Thanks for the info. Once I finish the female mold, I’ll send photos.

I had a look at the videos and website. Looks fantastic. Is it possible to do away with the consumables and mold a channel into a reusable silicone bag that the mti can be inserted into?

Yes, it is possible.

Molding a channel can be made easy by using Airtech Omega profiles. I think the 1/2" fits the MTI nicely.
