how do they do that? nice smooth edge…
it’s alrite for me to dremel the carbon fiber…
but laying cf on somewhere like pillar…there is no way you
trim your edge nicely like that, unless you take the whole pillars
off the door…any idea…
I bet that piece is not 100% front and back. Its most likely a piece of molded plastic layered in CF with a clear coat.
I try to never use a dremal. You can build up maybe 5-10 layers of clear coat and then buff the edge. You would do this carefully with high/med/fine compounds.
My guess is that they’re made with a mold. If you don’t have a mold, what you can do is trim the edge and then build up more layers of epoxy. Then you can wet sand it down to a smooth round edge like you see there.
If you do it the epoxy way. Make sure you are very careful not to whip alot of air into the epoxy while mixing. Build it up with very thin layers and wet sand in between.
Depending on what epoxy your using, some dont release the air bubbles easily.
