resin binding together?.... creating puddles

okay i have a headliner i overlayed… and this is the first “large” part i have done…

after the saturation coat i let set. went to work on the road came back in one week and applied a second coat… this coat is pooling even after i squegeed off excess. then let that set up and applied another coat and it helped a little with the pooling…but not like i would hope…

its almost like the resin doesn’t want to bind to the part correctly … and just keeps coming together on itself…
(laminating resin 1/1 mix)

how do i get the resin to lay flat and not have a texture… (not the weave texture… an up and down texture… high and low )
help/ advice

did you sand your part before applying second coat?

by the mix ratio you mention you’re using epoxy correct?
you most definately MUST sand the surface for the next coat to adhere properly if you waited that long.
Most epoxies will only bond to itself if the subsequent coat is still tacky

what extent of sanding should i be doing? GRIT? i was thinking maybe a quick 500/600

i usually sand 120 when I do another coat. It all blends in so you can’t see the sand marks
