Removing Meguiars Mold Release Wax

I have made some flat plates but there is a wax residue on the cosmetic side from the Meguiars Mold Release and want to know a safe substance or technique to get the wax off, I have tried a really think polish but that did not break through it.

Thanks for the help in advance

you didnt polish the waxed surface before layup?

Well problem is not that its stuck to the mold, its stuck to the carbon piece in certain areas. Getting it off of the mold is easy, however I do not want to damage the piece or ruin its luster by using a strong chemical. Not sure what I should use that will not have a negative effect on the resin.

No suggestions?

to remove excess mold wax use liquid dish soap, water & a sponge.

Will give it a try, I know removing old wax off of a car you can use baking soda, or even dried wax from a candle that has dripped onto a material however that did not work, will have to try something that breaks the wax down rather than tries to suck it up. Thank you.

for removing wax from a car, you wash it with WARM water…maybe try that …

Just like everyone says, first soap and warm water. Then wax and grease remover. http://www.autobodybrands.com/cleaners/wax_grease_rmv.html

After using that stuff, the finish will have a “bare” look that might have to be re-polished.
