Alright, so I need some help pointing me in the right direction of what type of fabric to use.
So far I picked 3 different kinds out of the pack I have, and it was based on weight.
The first one was 3k Uni-Carbon w/ S-glass fabric
It weighed in at 140grams/sq/meter or 4.1oz/sq/yard
Its a plain weave at $23.88/yard or $167.28 for 1 roll.
The second one was 100% Carbon Fabric 3k x 3k
It weighed in at 162g/sq/meter or 4.8oz/sq/yard.
Its also a plain weave at $16.73/yard or $127.10 for 1 roll.
The final one was 100% Kevlar
It weighed in at 170g/sq/meter or 5.0oz/sq/yard.
Its a 4-Harness Satin weave at $18.78/yard or $136.20 for 1 roll.
Keep in mind I will practice my initial things with fiberglass. These fabrics will be making body panels (i.e. fender, trunk, hood, etc) basicly anything that I dont need an autoclave for.
(Evan or Bill) What would I need (#of yards or rolls) to do something such as a fender that will be really strong. Looks are not an issue, as it will be painted. Cost and strength are my biggest quarrals.
There are also about 15 or so other types of fabric here, if of any not in the 3 above, would you reccomend?
