Non shift Carbon suppliers??

I make alot of cosmetic parts and use carbon with an epoxy binder on it which works really well as it doesnt shift and fall apart but as Im based in Ireland my choice of suppliers is limited and I find this stuff hard to track down.
I recently started buying my carbon braid in the USA and its much much cheaper than my UK source now Im wondering if anyone can recomend a USA source for this kind of non shift carbon fabric. With the current exchange rate I bet the USA prices will be way better.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, I 'm starting up a new business soon making cosmetic (carbon) parts and also planning to sell polyester and carbon fabric. I’m based in Belgium and got a very good supplier of non shift carbon fabric (example twill weave 204gr/m² 3K with epoxy binder). I 'm wondering how much you pay per square meter? The USA is a long distance so you must pay enough on shipment and customs? Maybe mine is cheaper otherwise I will also buy from US based suppliers. (I 'm not willing to offend people so please speak if I do.)

Who u using in uk ? Easy comp? Wats the price

I mostly get mine from PRF composites but its working out at £24 stg for 1 sqm
Thats about $40 per sqm
This is for 204gsm twill 2/2 with an EP binder

Perhaps Carr or Fothergill (both UK based)

For clarification, non shift carbon fiber is regular carbon fiber that has some sort of flexible adhesive in it which prevents the weave from distorting and keeps it cosmetically pristine?

Pointless in my opinion a very light coat of spray adesive does the job and last alont longer then paying a extra £5 a sqm and lasts a lot longer just a money making scheme no benifits what so ever

From the sounds of it this coating seems to be the same as Saertexs “SAERfix ®.” http://www.saertex.com/produkt_technik/produkte/saerfixR/ It was designed to reduce layup time in areas where spray adhesive is normally needed. The coating on SAERfix is compatible with epoxy resins and doesn’t have a negative effect on mechanical properties like normal spray adhesive.

We are talkin cosmetic not structural though if its just for looks why not use a proper spray adhesive ?

Try these people http://www.fibermaxcomposites.com/shop/

I’ve not used them… yet

One of my customers used Saerfix, and ot drove them crazy:

-short shelf life
-enormous amounts of paper waste
-glue everywhere, impairing and changing the infusion strategy
-lot of effort getting the backing off and applying the fabric.

They changed back to applying hotmelt spray glue.

I use prf composites the price they give you up and down I pay 16 pounds a square metre, but it depends on fabric weave and weight.

I pay +/- 20 euro/sm for non shift 204gr/sm twill weave 2/2 but I have to buy 100sm at a time and payment in advance… Shipment not included…

which supplier is that?

am i right in thinking this type of product can’t be used in infusion?

Why not?

Can be used perfectly.
