We had this with a production lot of the membrane. There were some pores that were a little to big so that resin can travel through the membrane in the nonwoven. But they should not be big enough that resin can travel in the spiral.
There will be no problem for the functionality.
To make sure that there is not too much resin in the part place your resin pot about 4 feet below your part.
If you wish we can change your hose so you will not have this problem any more. But just like I said, it does nor matter.
What resin do you use? Maybe this is a problem with the resin you use. While developing and optimizing the
membrane we had some resins that made problems caused by the polarity. Maybe this is a phenomenon that happens in a special constellation.
I’m using Pro-Set INF-114 resin and INF-211 hardener very low viscosity of around 196cp at 85*F
If you say it doesn’t affect performance than I am ok with using up the hose I have. I appreciate the offer to exchange it.
I will try to get a sample of the resin for tests. It will not affect the performance. We tested a lot of resins, but we could not test all resins that exsist. Sometimes the resin producer vhange some indigrents from lot to lot. That can also make a big difference.
Your problem is a cosmetic problem, but we are always testing that these things will not happen.
Little, confused. Can we get the hose in the US now? Where, How much is a small amount to test with? I’m brand new to infusion(never attempted). I’m thinking of PTMW for resin?

thank you wobcomp. contacted, hopefully someone will actually get back to me. I’m ready to get the ball rolling.
I was contacted, thanks for the help guys. unfortunately I can’t afford that product at this time. I guess I really don’t understand how it’s helping with material cost?
Still a neat product, looks as though it works well for most.
The SAMPE 2013 composite trade show is the next station of MTI in the USA. You can visit and talk to the guys of DD-Compound and German Advanced Composites between the 6th and 9th of May in Long Beach California at booth M57.
Hopefully you win another award.
Sorry, correction, the SAMPE show is May 6-9 instead of March 6-9.
Thanks
Billy
Of course may!
Thanks Billy, I`ve fixed it!
I went to the site and could not order the MTI hose. :confused2: Could only ask for a quote. I Didn’t want a quote. I wanted product.
My thought process is if the product is so expensive that a salesperson has to help me with the emotional trauma of the purchase, I almost certainly don’t want to pay that much for it. Still no idea if the product is a dollar a yard or $100 a yard. :suspicious: I mean if you are too scared to show a price I am definitely too scared to ask what it is.
Too bad it seemed like it would have been a great product in my shop. :sad2: I am building a 16 meter offshore raceboat.
In closing: There are plenty of high end products that are more expensive than the alternatives that just post prices. For example I use HOK paint. Very pricey but VERY worth it.
-Good luck - You seem to have a good customer following so far.
If you visit the page www.mti-hose.com you can click on buy now. Than you can choose want to buy and need a quote and in the field notes you can write that you want to order x yards and they will ship it immediately.
What kind of offshore boat are you building?
Thanks for the open criticism and sorry for the inconvenience with the site. Obviously were more engineers than salesmen and typically for technicians the primary intend of the website was to inform about the product. In the past weeks we
ve realized that we indeed forgot to install a tool to make the sales process more efficient. Thats the reason why we
re currently working on an e-commerce platform. It is online in the course of April and will make the purchasing process more customer-friendly. I promise
if you are too scared to show a price I am definitely too scared to ask what it is
This quote should be in all online marketing books.
I look forward to being able to buy product bypassing the quote step altogether in April.
So not counting shipping or tax what are we looking at here? 1.50USD/yd for 100yds? 2.50USD/yd for less than 25 yards? Jump on in anytime.
It`s no secret - selling price for 100 yards to end-consumer is 490$.
OK. That’s cool. A little under $5/yd I can see that.
Do you still send some meters for testing the MTI-hose before ordering?
I would be interested in this.
If so, how and where can i apply for a sample?
