Mould vs Mold tutorial

I got annoyed by Brits spelling it as “mould” and Americans spelling it as “mold” so I’m changing the rules, from now on everything that is alive is spelled “mould” and everything used to make shapes is spelled “mold” - in both countries.

This is where British English and American English meet.

I’m an American, I used to use “Mold”, but now I prefer the word “Mould” for tooling.

Americans and Brits spell lots of words differently. Deal with it.

I can see logic in both spellings.on the one hand, it makes sense to differentiate mould and mold. On the other hand, we pronounce them the same so why spell them differently… that extra u just makes it harder for kids to learn to spell.

If we are to introduce a new rule, I would prefer to ban all silent letters.
