Motorcycle Mirrors

I am thinking about making a pair of motorcycle mirors for my sportbike. I’d like to make the “stem” portion from c/f as well as the mirror housing. The stem would have an aero shape to it, not just a stick shape if you will. can a mold be made of wood for this desired shape? If so what is the best type of wood?
I would also need a pivot between the stem and the housing to get maximum view adjustablity out of the mirror. Any ideas how to mold a pivot onto the end of the stem? Any ideas on where to buy such a pivot?

Thanks guys

MDF is a very good wood to make plugs from. you would probally need to use a metal insert for your pivet point

Hobby shops sell the “aero” shaped aluminum stems your talking about. As in wing profile shaped (pagani mirrors?). Pulling a mold off of them would be simple.
