Infusion video

I would like to know more about that surface coat in the video? It works with epoxy? The only thing i have tried is the dura tech stuff. Its a real pain to spray in. Also have tried polyester clear gel coat. It was too tacky after several hours. So putting the first ply down was near impossible.

The surface coat in the video is a PU in mould coating from HP Textiles. It works perfect with epoxy. It is also a UV protection for the part and it can be polished.

What is pu? Does it cure to a mostly tack free surface? some of my parts are deep. So if its very tacky. I can’t get the first ply down without messing it up. The dura tech stuff does work. I just don’t like the brownish color.

After 24 hours it is tack free. You can get it in transparent or in all RAL colours. PU means polyurethan. It is similar to a clear coat used in the automotive sector. It is the best gel coat / in mould coating i have ever used.
The only problem is that you should use PVA as release agent. There might be problems with wax based release agents for demoulding.

I mostly use semi perm in my molds. I looked on the link you provided. I couldn’t find the pu coating. What is it listed under on the site?
