This is my Silvia bootlid.
Were would you place the flanges on this? And how? Any tips?

if you are going to infuse your flanges would need to be longer than mine i would also watch the angles look like you could have a reverse if you put 90 degrees like mine on the back
on the front (key hole side) i would lay boards flat on back extending the surface then go 90 degrees

you would most definetly want to use the second picture flange that you posted for use on the outer. I would also be concerned with the undercut in the license plate are. I would add a loose insert into the tool to cover that. I would also condsider the mold advantage showed for the skeleton. In this way you can get good rolled edges for your interior part too. I like doing that since all you have to do is grind flsh to material thickness, and then you are done …no $20 dollar an hour laborer needed to trim parts.

The ‘license plate’ area is actually were the reverse light are, its not for the liscenece plate. It is completly covered by the headlamps.
What kind of materials would you make the flange of? ANy tips on this?
Do anyone got a picture of a plug of a similar project with flanges.

Did you use that yellow foam to build up the space between the boot and the flange? I guess its not possible to get the wood close to the curved boot.

the foam was shot under the frame to support the top the flange was just filled and straightend with mud yes it was an inch thick in some spots
What kind of mud is this? :oops:
duraglass or now i am using detroit have also used fiber strand it is just a plug it dont really matter what ever is cheapest
