How the heck did they do this??

you beat me to it, I was going to say the same thing, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Ok it’s confirmed. I will be there Thursday and Friday. Then I’ll be gambling and getting my freak on over the weekend… ok not really but I’ll be hanging out with my parents at the lake near by.

I will be there pretty much the whole week, at least long enough to go home broke :frowning:

I think my buddy and i are staying at the palms. That or the travel lodge on the strip. Where is everyone here going to be at?

I was at circus circus last year, I think I am going to be at the mgm this year

Interesting. I work at the MGM. Swing by the Grand Wok for lunch or dinner if you like asian food. You’ll love it.

Will it be served in a carbon fiber bowl?

I’ll just bring my own

safe to eat out of?

they got a urethane coating that is safe

looks like a photo chop to me

no they are real

Just out of curiousity, What is everyone paying for a full roll now?
I am having difficulty getting full rolls at this time. Is anyone else experiencing this also.

Composites one is not getting anymore carbon till next year. I have about 50 yards left but might buy a roll for reserve from somewhere. Sollerpaddles has rolls they are selling.

When I first read this…I thought it said potatoe chip…oh well guess you had to have been there!
(grin)

Has anyone figured out how they did this? I dont understand how you can do this without saturating the cloth.

I have done a fabric piece before. you spray gel coat, then you treat the material with antiabsorbant stuff you get at a fabric store, then you shot gel coat over it again with the fabric laid down. Then you lay a normal hood and the fabric will appear dry

I brought this back to life because I remeber doggie made an engine cover with the fabric v’ed together and hopefully these pictures can help

Here is a nice V weave simulated by laying two pieces over one another -

.

This is a good example of something that is more easily done with infusion than with wet layup.

As a side note you can also see the carbon fiber grill I made.
