I doubt many have mainly because flow media is really cheap. It’s even cheaper than bubble wrap. While in theory it might work you’d be better off using purpose made flow media
The thing is I have to order flow media and in a pinch I was want to know all that I can buy at local hardware stores etc
I’ve used shape cloth, the problem is it crushes under vacuum and shuts of flow.
Ain’t you the one that told me I could use nylon jacket lining from the craft store as a peel ply. I tried it and it WORKS! I thought one of the suggestions was to get a nice flower pattern to give it positive vibes lol. What’s in the water down there in NZ that you guys try all these non-composite materials!
It’s high prices and limited supplies.
That is why I started selling flow media and other stuff in smaller quantities. Works great. 5 meter peelply? No problem. 10 m2 flow media and 15 m2 vacuum film? Sure.
Other materials can work, or can behave funny at times. I had some peelply replacement (cloth liner) that worked, but the next batch that did not work. I prefer the real stuff now, and I learned the hard way.
