Does all epoxy degrade I’m sunlight,about a year ago I covered so some
Parts in my car using the skinning process I clear coated using automotive spray can,with in the last couple of weeks the parts have gone cloudy and patchy,the temperature has been high,especially in the car,I used west system 105 and 205 hardener,I no they have 207 for clear finish, has any one had this problem.
could be the rattle can clear you sprayed over it.
Do you no if the two pack clear is more uv resistance than the spray cans.cheers.
Yes, I believe it is. I have tried Upol Clear #1, it’s a UV resistant 1k in an aerosol, but I’m now using Max Meyer 2k after a recommendation from a paint forum. But you’ll really need an air fed mask if you want to use 2k, it’s lethal stuff.
i use the high end ppg clear. I have parts that have been sprayed with it, that have lasted for years. I have also heard good things about the new Sherwin fast dry clear. Its supposed to fill minor pitting a lot better.
All this is good advise. Also the less epoxy you have on the surface the better. Use more varnish and less epoxy to close pores.
