I am currently thinking of buying a CNC router for making molds of my parts out of aluminium .
Has anybody tried this before?
My worry is the lack of knowledge in electronics and programming (g code etc) .
It would be more than helpful if someone can share his case with me …
Well,
I bought myself an unfinished project. Electronics still had to be done.
didn’t have a lot of electonics knowledge or experience, so learned along the way. now nearly finished. Once you get where all the wires go, it starts making sense.
Now the programming, I started using cambam, with some tutorials. Don’t know how well they will work, but I get some G-code out. Should be fine.
As I have worked at mouldcam europe (composites and drafting), I have experience with preparing drawings for milling. And I can call the programmer when I get stuck. But first I need to find a new workplace, my machine is nearly finished, but stuck in storage.
