Autoclave blows up. uh oh.....

They don’t say it was the autoclave that blew, but when the article says “The plant is the world’s first commercial autoclave waste treatment facility” I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a wood burning oven that blew. Anyone heard about this or know more of what happend and why? It’s terrible one died and one got hurt.

That looks about equal to a cruise missile.

LOL ecept for the dead and hurt people.

Fire inside an autoclave can cause overpressurization. Important to make sure your materials inside the clave are rated above the operating temperature.

Also there should be repture discs that are vented to the outside of the plant in the event the clave becomes overpressurized. Also the comercially available claves have safety valves and rupture discs. The discs are thin machined aluminum flat discs that are made to handle up to a certain pressure then they blow, just releasing the pressure so no esplosion. ( darn ecs key don’t work again)
