Airtac 2 from Airtech

Why not ask your supplier for resin suitable for RTM process, rather than trying to use something designed for a quite different process?

There are a lot of resin systems manufactured, and getting the right one, and asking for a tech data sheet to be supplied with it, is going to save money, and make things a lot easier.

people must be different in the UK. I have the HARDEST time getting ANY technical support from US manufatures and suppliers

this is correct. This is even what the tech guy from airtech told me. no ester resin desolves the spray.

So it is safe to say that epoxy resin will disolve the spray adhesive?

Anyone know where to buy 3M #75 spray adhesive? I went to home depot and it seems they sell all of them except for the 75.

Where online do you buy the Airtech spray adhesive?

you ask a lot of questions, but do you ever use google.com or the search feature?? there are millions of posts on here about all the questions your asking. im not trying to sound like a dick, but most ppl here will get tired of posting the same answer over and over.

asking something like, infusion epoxy… thats generic.

asking something like, at 25" of hg resin is not traveling fast enough… what can i do… someone will answer with many reasons why, flow media, resin is catalyzed to much, heat? etc.

you have to ask questions that has never been answererd or you cant find the answer via search…

example #2… airtac2 from airtech… hmmmm… google airtech the company, then find the product, then find the distributor…

I haven’t seen the airtac 2 spray for sale online anywhere. You can go here: https://www.airtechonline.com/htm/defaultIE.htm and request a catalog. I’ve worked with Craig Hill. Real nice guy.

Cheers,

Jer

Coastline intl. is Airtechs official U.S. supplier. They are based out of Cali. As long as you know the exact product name you can order directly over the phone.

Heres the number: 621 226 0500

So George, did you get the Airtac II to work for you using Luisn’s tips (allowing to cure and/or spraying with compressed air)? I’ve had the same trouble. Just ran an infusion without using any spray adhesive between the gel coat and first layer. Instead, I sprayed the gel coat and once it b-staged I laid in my first layer of CF using the tackiness of the gel to get the fabric to conform to the shape of the part. Seems to work like a charm. Just curious…

Do be honest I use more Polyester resin than Epoxy this time. But if I use epoxy then I spray it from a distance and extremely little just to hold in a specific areas plus as the Lusin says to wait all the bobbles of the resin to get away. In polyester resin NO PROBLEM u can use it all if you want.

One way is good to hold the cloths, when you apply the geal coat wait to cure. Then u take Aceton and apply to soft paper little. Then in paraller direction u apply it to the mold with the geal coat (just wet the paper). Then u have time to put the carbon without any airtech.

Didn’t have the cash to buy Airtack or 3M75 or 77… so i bought an aerosol can of 3M 45 spray adhesive. I’ll let you guys know how it works for infusion using epoxy resin, all in a female mold.

If this stuff works, it’s half the cost of airtack or 3M77.
