Just finished an infusion video myself. =)

Layup is as follows.
2 plies 5.7oz plain weave CF
3 plies 6oz plain weave E-Glass
Resin
90%/10% Iso Resin/Styrene Mix
Total Infusion time ~2min.
Flow media is covered by an additional layer of peel ply to protect the bag from punctures. (I hate this bagging film.) Video appears to skip because the camera used could only record 30 second clips.
what were the parts you were infusing? any pics of it right after it’s out of the bag?
I don’t have any pics of the freshly demolded part. Here is a pic of the finished part though.
looks very nice, did you gel coat? or clear coat? what typr of resin are you using? I’d imagine that it needs to be UV resistant.
gelcoat is uv marine clear gel. clear coat is dupont chromaclear hc7600s. resin is polyester iso resin.
why did you both clear and gel coat it?
I use gelcoat to keep the carbon in the mold during dry layup. The clearcoat is for UV protection.
i get yea. Have you had bad experiances with the marine UV to use that alone?
The clarity of the UV gel is not up to par with what I would like. If I use too much gelcoat, it tends to leave a milky finish. I use the urethane clear for greater UV protection.
yeah its really obvious that I need to change my lines…
Im using that drip system line…but its getting the job done till I run out of it.
