Yellow Filleting Wax In Australia

Hi everyone,

We are currently working on adding Yellow Filleting Wax to our stock line for retail to Australia. This product is vastly superior replacement to plastecine, easier to use, reduces labour and increases finish quality. As many of you may know, the only way to source this excellent filleting material is to purchase from overseas, which can be very costly when considering the cost of shipping.

We are currently looking at offering this product at the following packs/prices:

325g Block - $18.50 inc GST
650g Block - $30 inc GST
2 x 650g Block - $55 inc GST

Pending demand, this product could be available within the next month or so.

Eventually, with your support and if demand is high enough, we aim to have these prices reduced by up to 35%.

To help us guage the level of demand, if any of you are interested in purchasing Yellow Filleting Wax from us, please reply to this post below with pack size/quantity you would be interested in purchasing

Please note this is an expression of interest only and not an obligation to purchase!

For those unsure of what this product is, it is the same as sold by Easy Composites in the UK, as shown in this video. Note how quick and easy it is to apply!

Well you know I’m interested Phill! I’d easily buy 2 650g packs straight away.

i would buy them also

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I would be interested 2x650g

What is the max working temp?

I’ll have some too.

Thanks guys.

Great news! We are going ahead and adding this item to our regular stock, making us the first and only supplier in Australia to have this fantastic product. We are hoping to have the Yellow Filleting Wax in stock before the new year, and hopefully we will be taking pre-orders within the next week or so.
I will let you know when we have some exact dates for pre-orders and availability!

Racecomp - it is intended mainly for room temperature cures, however it should withstand low elevated temperatures also (50-60 Deg C), possibly higher. I will let you know when I have some firm data for you.

Very excited to be offering this product to the Australian composites industry!

Cheers.

Not sure if I would use it for any sort of elevated temp cures. It gets very soft and starts to move around, I’ve had issues a few times when I’m spraying pva and I have the part in the sun to dry the pva faster. Even on just a 25 degree day the wax gets soft and moves which makes the pva bubble and lift away from the part.

Thanks for the info Hanaldo, good to know. It most certainly softens with increasing temperature, and while we have tested it with great success for room temperature cures, we have yet to thoroughly test it at elevated temperatures.

We will have some exact data in the near future, so that we can guide everyone through it’s exact limitations and guidelines for use. As such - for the time being we can only recommend and garuntee success with room temperature processes.

This information will be available on the website once we have it.

Cheers.

would it be possible to ship to Canada, with a cheapish method?

I wish someone here would offer this. I tried to get it straight from easycomposites.com but it would have been almost $65 CDN with shipping for 2… crazy high if you ask me .

Hi 20_rc51_00

I think the best method for small orders would be international post. The cheapest method would be “sea mail” - though we could also send by “air mail”, which is about 1.5 times the price of sea mail.

Sea Mail to Canada Postage charges:

1 x 325g block: $10.50 AUD
1 x 650g Block: $19.90 AUD

Each additional 650g block will cost approximately another $10AUD to ship.

However, if you intend on purchasing larger quantities (e.g over 10 blocks) it does start getting much cheaper (works out to around $8 AUD per block to ship 10 of). We could also look into sea freight for large orders which should be much cheaper again.

Currently, the AUD and CAD are almost identical in value.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Phill
