Wrapping question

Ok so i have been asked to “Wrap/skin” some parts in CF,

Now this isnt a problem, i have done loads of this before, but some parts of the fabric have tried to lift and ive had to weigh these bits down to take shape.

To make my life easier i was thinking about,

Preping the part.
Apply a thick coat of epoxy then leave to tac.
Apply fabric to part and put another coat of resin on top.
Then place in a vac bag to pull the fabric into the corners and around the bends then leaving for a while.

This hopefully will then stop any problematic bits of the fabric wanting to migrate/lift from the part.

not fussed about finish from the bag as it will be preped for another coat of resin anyway

Anybody else tried this?

what kind of material / what are you wrapping?

i am about to do a motorcycle frame and have never attempted this before.

Interior car bits, plastic

anybody? everybody? nobody?

Did you read the following in the tutorial section of the forum?

Sorry I meant to reply yesterday. Vac bagging overlays is unnecessary and wasting a lot of time and money. Your resin should get tacky enough to keep the first layer down, the trick is knowing at what time will it be sticky enough. In the above overlay the writer’s polyester took 15 minutes. For the epoxy resin I used it was about 2 hours in on a 70 degree day. Just figure out when that B stage is and you should be good!
