its good because you share a common intrest with people and its a good environment… the other fibreglass forum is not a very social place… informative, but not social…
lol, the ‘other’ place used to be informative, until all of their post disapeared lol…

The good news is we are still in the running for it. the bad news is they gave everybody that was left in the quote list a copy of all the bids and said for us to sharpen our pencils and give us the best shot at doing this again.
So here I am requoting everything that I sweated my B@ll$ off quoting before.
I have to worry about going much lower on my quote now or deciding if I want to requote it.
I hate playing there games really ticks me off but in my sittuation i am a 1 man shop with no over head and my plate is full i bid all new jobs higher cause if they accept then some thing else has to go(will not add employes) if they dont that is fine they probably are out for price only and if you did win the job there search will probably continue for a lower price as you run production I learned this the hard way i thought i would cut tooling costs and make money back on production very big mistake!!! took a long time to recover from that one and they had the nerve to call me back when they were not happy with other shop lets say they got an ear full of what i thought of them

I am tired of playing the quoting game.
I was the lowest man on the quote. I was even thingking of sending everyone on the list a letter stating that I was not interested in playing these games. If a company can’t accept an honest quote when submitted then I am not interested in playing childish games.
I know It will cause me t lose this company as a contact, but it may be best for me at this time.

I have had a couple of competitors knocked off (China) some of mine air cooled VW products and I got on a major message board to educate the buying public Mr. EMPTY PANTS and FUDGE PARTS…
Well, later on during the return of the orginal Bug In, those companies sure had many retail buyers coming by their booths and coughing “Rip offers” “knock offers” “thiefs” and the like… :lol: One of mine bigger accounts was behind them and overhead these comments and they had to tell me!
congratulations on your behalf. I just was awarded last month one new contract from a company that was just sick and tired of getting new excuses and never being able to follow up on the job.
They finally told the company that theywere going to do it over here. They laughed. The customer told them I will gladly eat some of my profit and pay higher costs to have the ability to drop in on a customer to see the progress of my molds, or parts.
They quit laughing.

it was a bit harder on those boards because even if you did ask for advice you couldnt really reccomend anything other than their products anyways!
