Maybe if you don’t eat it you should be ok and use gloves and other PPE. Everything is dangerous, you just have to minimize you risks.
Water is the most deadly chemical on the planet and is always found in the systems of everyone that dies but yet they plumb it into our homes.
The BPA that is in epoxy is reacted with DGE (diglycidylether) and in that respect less dangerous than the free BPA which is present in polycarbonate (baby drink bottles)
However, keep yourself safe. Read the MSDS, understand the protection you should take, and do it.
As a minimum, make sure you do not touch uncured epoxy. Use nitril gloves (not latex)
