Wiring carbon fiber board?

If I have a carbon fiber paddle board I want to run wiring through for some small marine speaker on the nose. I want the battery pack about center. What measures would I have to take to insulate wiring through the styrofoam core?

Second question.

The battery pack I want to sit in the board. I CANNOT come up with a plan to make it accessible. I was thinking of a compartment with a lid similar to the one above. But I would like to fabricate all parts essentially. ANY and I mean ANY ideas would be great for a water sealed lid compartment. I was thinking I could just make a circular panel wit screw holes and sealed with an O ring. The batteries are very very small. Please help.

One way would be to buy a sealed enclosure from an electronics supply company and set it in a cavity carved out of the board, with it’s lid exposed.
These enclosures are available in diecast aluminium,ABS and polycarbonate and have gaskets and O rings to seal them.

Thank you

I’m concerned about corrosion from salt water. It doesn’t have to be wider that 1 1/2" deeper than two. A threaded circle hatch would be perfect.

Bigger than you want, but light weight, durable, reliable seal.

Thank you. I’m thinking something like that is what I’m going to have to go with. I want to so something like that.

Shape a small lid out of PU foam. With a small indention, so I can adhere a Oring into the grove. Make a mold so I can just use excess material to make hatches. But I don’t know how I could screw them into the board.
