Hi,
Bicycle enthusiast from Norway here.
I have been interested in composites and composites fabrication for some time now, and have finally bought a house where I have the space and ability to experiment a little. Thus, I joined this site to get some advice on techniques, materials and such.
My first project will be to make a bicycle saddle. The shell seems pretty straight forward, I plan to find a donor saddle with the right geometry and make a mould out of this saddle. Then get a vacuum pump and cast it using vacuum infusion. However, I also want to make the rails out of carbon fiber, and have not come up with a good solution for fabricating these. Will post a thread looking for advice on this as soon as I have access to post threads.
Previously I have done some simple fibreglass work, like making a GRP saddle base to replace an old rusty steel saddle base on a vintage motorcycle, but not much real life experience apart from that.
