Side project Wink style mirror (thanx to my girl who helped bagging it)
3 layers. Really thin layer of glass (like you al told me) kevlar and an other layer of glass:

Surface is soooo smooth now. Will use this type of layup with my hatch project.

i like alot!! what did you use as a plug? and any tooling pics. is a wink mirror a corect name for it?
The plug is a “gutter” you’d find at any DIY shop 
Look on ebay for wink mirror and you’ll find the exact thing (Y)
ahhh i have just don a little reseach 
I have a 3 panel mirror in my K-car. It just fits between the bars of the cage. Kind of hard to turn and look with the helmet and harness.

what did you use to secure mirrors and did you use balsa wood?
^^ I did use so balsa but not as a core. Just to get the part in place and connected to a screw so it can be fitted. (search for vision mirror)
