Will body filler alligator a thin gelcoat?

I’m going to try, one more time, to pull a full mold of the scoop on this hood before I start filling it in for the next phase of this project. After I get it gelcoated again, if it looks as if I have insufficient gelcoat in a few deep corners, would the thin spots be less likely to alligator if I filled the corners using a faster hardening PER based body filler w/ a BPO catalyst, rather than with a home brew filler with MEKP?

I know they both have a PER base, I just wondered if a different, and faster, catalyst would kick the cure before the styrene had a chance to react with the gelcoat?

Again… just curious.

To keep the resin base consistent, use microspheres or talc mixed with whatever gelcoat you’re using. Make sure to also catalyze at the same ratio.
