I need an inflatable bladder made for me and seeing who is all out there that is doing this. I called Torrtech and their lead time is 4-5 week if they have time kinda thing because it is only a 13 inch tube with an S curve. What other companies are out there?
Bondline, but they suck. They won’t talk to you if it’s something small. Seems like they got something stuck up their ahole.
holy crap, I just re-read over my post and now I know why I got an A in spanish and a C in English
well I emailed bondline just to see what they say about it. I thought they would be more money but for a manderal bladder was only $300 from torrtech. Is bondline the only other place you know of??
Don’t email, they don’t know how to use email.
oh now you tell me I found this link of other companies that do it. I am going to call airtech, well my rep and talk with him. I didn’t know they did and I have ordered a ton of bagging stuff from them so I bet they can help me out!
That too… make your own bladder
never made my own bladder and have no idea where to start
You want to fill me in on this
Well if you buy from airtech, that’s what you’ll have to do. They don’t make the bag for you, but they’ll show you how to make it. I think.
i guess I will call them now
EMI,
What’s the I.D. of your tube? I might have a simple solution for you.
carbonjoe, I sent you an email with a picture of the tube. it is a 3.5 inch tube about 13 inches long
How much pressure are you trying to develop in the bladder? If you have a heat sealer for plastic bags, you can take vacuum bagging film and make your own bladder. Cut to shape, seal the long edges, seal one short end, turn the bag inside out so all the seem edges are now inside. Finally, seal the end with a fitting so you can inflate the bag.
I might try that. I don’t need much pressure, it is just holding a sleeve to the mold
this is what airtech says
We do make bladders and are quoted on an individual basis. Most
customers purchase materials from us and make their own, however. If
the geometry is not extremely complex, our lay flat tubing in nylon bag
film works excellent as a bladder when vented to autoclave pressure,
exterior pressurized, or evacuated with vacuum to the surface of the
laminate. Also, in our “rubber” section of the catalog, there is
Aircast and Airpad materials. Both of these materials make excellent
bladders.
The Aircast is a two part silicone, comes in various forms, and is
usually cast into a mold with part thickness and/or expansion taken into
account. One type is a mix A and B, de-gas, and pour, and the other
type comes in a cartridge with no need to de-gas.
The Airpad comes in two forms. The first is a non-silicon rubber that
gets reinforced with our hot melt tooling prepreg in layers, then is
cured in an autoclave with positive pressure. Usually, A4000 Bondable
one side is adhered to the Airpad in the cure process for multiple
releases from a laminate. The second is a B-staged material that is
already reinforced with fiberglass leno style weave and is compacted and
cured in an oven.
