I have looked at many web sights, and can’t seem to find much pre-preg CF. Who sales 3K 2 x 2 Twill? Can you get it in the blue and red carbon/kevlar combination?
Pre pregging is usually done on high performance fabrics. Colored carbon/kevlar is not really used on high tech components, mostly parts that just need to look cool.
For FG, Aramid, and CF pre pregs, I use these guys: http://www.jdlincoln.com/jd_carbon_prepregs.html Decent pricing and very helpful.
It would be best for you to find a supplier or manufacture in Utah or shipping might be a problem.
Are you looking for small quanities or full rolls?
I know of a plant here in So. Calif. that I have connections with…but I think they only deal in (full rolls maybe) in skids or full truck loads…
I was just curious, because most sights like fibre glast never mention pre preg. I am making some flat plate, and thought that it would be easier to buy pre preg, but I can make my own with no problem. Thanks for the feed back.
Fiberglast would never have it as they would want too much and it would go bad before they sold it…but we are using some in the classroom that is maybe a year old and it still works very good. And I’m making Christmas gifts from it: Clipboards and desk organiziers…
I am having a hell of a time to get some prepreg. US army is buying up all of the carbon they can get there hands on…
Just to let you know, hexcel’s largest pre-preg manufacturing facility is in Salt Lake City!
