What vacuum pumps are rated for continuous run?

Hi, I’m currently looking to buy a good vacuum pump for infusion (small projects, pieces about 1kg), and I can see, that a pump that is rated for continuous run would solve many problems. I’m currently looking Speedivac Edwards 2, suppose that this pump is ready for continuous use. But, is it really so?

Generally. What models or brands are rated for continuous run? HVAC vacuum pumps may also be rated for continuous run?

A greeting and thank you very much.

What price of pump are you comfortable with? Do you plan on making a complete vacuum system, or do you want something portable?

No more than 200 € and not necessarily portable, but a small pump (about 2 cfm) will always be potatil …

Regards and thanks

In that case you end up with airco pumps.

For instance the Eurovacuum EVD-VE115SV, which runs at some 130 euro (including connector for hose) ex tax and ex shipping.

But those bombs are valid for continued use? HVAC vacuum pumps thought that were designed to running for a few hours at most.

And another thing, also I would like use to degas vacuum pump, with approximately 1mba will be enough? or, would I need two stage pumps?

I’m talking to a salesperson to buy a rebuilt Speedivac Edwards 2 for 200 €, Is it better to pump you told me?

A greeting and thank you very much.

If you want a pump that can run for a few hours continuous with a long lifetime you have to change your budget.

Hi, thank you very much for the help. Really I don’t need a pump as robust as a professional, because I only will made one piece every month approximately, I just want the pump to be able to run during the curing time of the resin .
So, Isn’t speedivac Edwards 2 a good option?
Maybe, one Robinair pump of ebay?

Regards and happy new year!

Why not look at using a resin system that will cure in a few hours, then one of the cheap aircon vac pumps would work fine. Quality resin manufacturers supply good data on viscosity, tgs, gel times, elevated temperature cure rates.

Yes, could be an option, but I bought some liters of resin, and has a gel time longish…

Sorry to insist, but I have a Edwards Speedivac 2 in buying process, does anyone have any opinions on this pump? I could cancel the order…

Greetings
