What should I be using to clean my moulds?
I’ve been making some moulds using epoxy tooling gel and I wanted to know what is best to Clean them of the modelling clay, pva and wax from the production process of making the mould?
I’ve tried cellulose thinners that seems to work ok?
Is there a special product?

I use organic solvent based on 1-methoxy 2-propanol, works ok, but I don’t use wax, clay or PVA!

Water dissolves pva, acetone takes care off wax and other,

Acetone for the win…

^ what he said

I use a piece of clay to lift the other smaller pieces of clay up that I couldn’t peal off easily, then use a rag and some acetone to clean the rest of the mould. Works like a charm.

Acetone +1
Also very good for getting rid of a blocked nose, clearing your head, making a hangover worse, etc

vinegar works well in some cases.

Funny you say that I didn’t think about it but I use vinegar with water 50/50 in a spray bottle to spray the boat down before I wipe it off after pulling out of the lake. It really eliminates water spots or build up or minerals from the water. It works just as good as the spray Meguairs makes specifically for this purpose.
