what resin do i use and technique q's

first off i tried search before posting this but found nothing helpful, ok, im looking at making a set of headlights for my car (flush mount to replace my popups) because i cant justify paying $1000 for something that couldnt posibly cost near that to make. ok anyhow onto my question,

i need to know what resin or composite material i should use for the clear lens, i want something that wont distort the light. also what technique should i use to make this without any bubles in it.

before posting this what i thought of for a solution is:
I found some molding resin on fibreglast.com and i figured if i made both a male and female mold to force the resin to keep exact deminsions of the lens and make some form of infusion system. i havent worked with infusion at all so i dont know anything about the process, the way i thought of doing this was by runing tubes from the male side of the plug into a container of resin and on the female plug have the vacume source ( i have a shop vac would that work or do i need to invest in something else?)

ok, i hope that my quiestions/explanations were coherent enough, thanks in advance

Stay away from composites or liquid resins and work with Polycarbonate (PC) or Arcylic (PMMA) sheeting and vacuum form them.

thanks, what company is a good source for either of these? and does anyone have a link to a tutorial on vacume forming? ive worked a little with acrylic in school but all we did was heat it with a heat lamp and then form it by hand, we didnt make any complex shapes
thanks
