What issues with curing paint and CF in same oven

Hi,

Are there any issues with curing Carbon Fibre parts using epoxy resins in the same oven as is used for curing paint (2k isocyantate)? I’m particularily wondering about contamination compromising the resin system. Both would be done infrequently with plenty of time for solvents to disperse.

I’m sure I’ve heard somewhere that it’s a bad idea, but I can’t find the relevant thread.

Thanks,

I take it the carbon parts are just wet-laid, no vacuum bag enclosing them?

I can’t say I would consider it a big problem. I probably wouldn’t cure them together at the same time, but I wouldn’t fuss to much about what has been in the oven previously.

Shouldn’t matter, now cooking food that’s a different story!

Thanks guys.

Some parts are shrink wrapped which may have minimal exposure to the oven air, and also some parts for post cure. No wet layup, and vac bag parts should be OK.
