Hey guys,
I found a video on YouTube that describes a material that has stretch, conforms well to extremely complicated molds, and has memory. I don’t know how to link it to you here, but it is titled “Fiberglass Loading for RTM/LRTM/VARTM Tips & Tricks from the RTM Pro’s”. Can you have a look at the video and tell me what that material is? I believe it is my solution. Thank you… will keep an eye on your response …
I would say those products are Rovicore (Chop/polypropylene core/chop) made by Chomarat and others and Uniconform (chop/glass core/chop) made by Owens Corning.

This is a material available under different brandnames:
Saercore (Saertex) www.saertex.com
Polymat (Scott & Fyfe) www.http://www.scott-fyfe.com/en/products/composite.htm
Rovicore (Chomarat) http://www.chomarat.com/en/category/produits/produits-produits/rovicore/
It basicly is a sandwich of a conformable glass matt on the outside, and a drapable core (nonwoven thermoplastic) on the inside. The core acts as infusion medium.
I am interested in this material as well. Does anyone here use these products? Toward the end of this video, he shows a pre-form made with this material cast from that mold. Does anyone know what they are using for a sizing to retain the mold shape and would it be compatible with epoxy infusion? I can find no helpful info on pre-forming anywhere.
