I would like to fabricate a blue carbon fiber look dash for my boat. But I haven’t bee able to identify the system required to create this composite. I don’t think it’s real carbon fiber as most carbon I’ve seen is black or dark grey.

I wonder if this wasn’t the 100% blue kevlar 2x2 I haven’t been able to find.

ideas?

My guess would be a texalium but anodized blue?? not sure though

Blue Eglass (texalium)…this product is made by spraying the glass cloth with aluminuim, and I would imgagine that the blue effect is achieved by adding colour to the spray process.

Eglass is available in several different colours, and I have some copper coloured here, which would like very nice for certain applications.

Or using transparent blue pigment into the clear resin matrix…

Here is a closeup of some blue texlium inserts I made

Eglass looks so nice, I cant honestly see why more people dont use it for the many cosmetic items that are made, rather than using carbon fibre/epoxy for these sort of things?

Can you tell us the proccess to make this kind of products? it will be very, very usefull.

I beleive he said it was texalium, that he used , as far as I know texalium is nothing that special and no process is necessary, the fabric comes colored.

“Texalium” is a trade name…its simply Eglass sprayed with aluminium to make it look shiny!
