I have seen this term several times, sometime with respect to unidirectionals, and remain confused as to its precise meaning. Can someone tell me what non-crimp fabric means?
Imagine a woven fabric. Can you imagine the thread “meandering” left and right? This in effect made the thread “crimp”. For the weft of a 1 meter wide fabric you probably need 1,1 meter of thread.
These fabrics are “crimped”
A non crimp fabric has the fibers dead straight. Multiaxials and unidirectionals are non crimped.
O.K. Thanks.
