Wet sanding guidelines

Hi, when is it not OK to wet sand parts (or use water for cutting)? I have a fair bit of sanding to do and I wanted to try wet sanding to reduce the dust. But I’m worried because I’ve heard moisture can have a detrimental effect. Some parts will subsequently be bonded, some will just be painted/clear coated. They are mostly fairly structural.

Thanks in advance.

What materials are you working with? What resin?

Only Carbon Fibre and Epoxies (from various sources), some post cured wet layup and infusions but mostly OOA prepregs.

Go ahead and do your wet sanding. If your parts are fully cured, you will not have any problem comes from a temporary contact of water. As you most probably already aware; upon wet sanding, make them bone dry, and absolutely dust free before hitting with paint or adhesive. I advise to wipe them with a lint-free fabric wetted with acetone.
