post up photos…
What resin are you using and are you using a gel coat?
Hi I’m using SP115 resins system with fast hardner and no i’m not using a gel coat.
below is a picture of the dry spot
thanks
The area that looks a bit cloudy… seems like a bridging problem? Resin pooling in the mould where the fabric has lifted away, and then your problems just compound out to the edge of the mould…
To fix the part now - perhaps you could sand it down level and try a flow coat or something like that? May need to coat, sand, coat, sand, depending on what you’re satisfied with.
To avoid the bridging in the first place - what is your layup process like? If you let your surface coat tack off (when you can leave a finger print in it, without having resin stick to your finger) then it will really hold the carbon down well when you initially place it into the mould. Depending on the side of the part you may need to use a normal hardener to give yourself plenty of time to work. That is assuming you’re doing wet layup?
Hi mugget, thanks for the comments and yes this was wetlayup and i was using a fast hardner
