yea i paid $25 for each piece…i hope it helps to support this forum
Yes, it will and please be pateint on the shipping as I’m subbing for 2x CNC machining classes all of this week and I hope to ship your items out the first of next week with added peel ply too!
I’ll be auctioning more Nylon peel ply this weekend as I needed this week to focus on these 2x classes and some other personal stuff…
i like what you are doing here…im very interested in carbon fiber and composites in general…finally got EVERYTHING i ordered so now im waiting on that kevlar mainly…ill start making molds tomorrow…im very excited
What kind of CnC machines Werks? My brother and I are buying a router (Larken 100). Steep learing curve. I’ve got the CAD skills and he’s the cabinet maker.
What type of work are you and your bro going to do with the router?
Composites i hope
I wish i had free reign of two CNC HAAS machines at my place of employment. I could think of all sorts of cool stuff to make from titanium and aluminum. Actually If i just knew all the G codes ( currently studying G and M codes )and programing i would sneak in my own parts once in a while. For now i can only sneak in manual machining work as i used to run manual mills and lathes for a couple years. I just recently started my learning curve on CNC HAAS machines. I’d recomend learning CNC machining to anyone who is technically minded and likes making stuff. Later in life if i can afford it i’d like to buy a HAAS machine.
It was mostly basic machining claasses (free ROP job training) but they also have some students on CNC table top (machining plastic rod or PUR foam {from me}) machines.
They also have a full size, stand alone Hass CNC mill too.
I listed a place on here about a CNC plasma set up that also routers and other cutters can be used with it too!
Have you thought about building that cnc router from those plans Werksberg? Would be an awesome thing.
Maybe in the future plans but hands full now!
Well I’m building a boat. A 30.5’ trawler which will use marine plywood as a core in the hull and decks and Corecell foam for the cabin and roof all of which will be cut on the CnC router. A lot of the components of the boat, hatches, doors, portlights etc. will all be made by me using the CnC router and infusioning them myself. I intend to infuse the entire hull in one shot, well not inside and outside at the same time but still a pretty large undertaking. The outside of the hull will be 1708 biaxial. Around the keel and chines it’ll be two layers or more, not sure yet. All seams will also have 3 layers of biaxial tape. The inside will be 1208. Together it adds up to about 240 sq yrds of glass and about 24 gals of epoxy. The foam cored components will use mostly 1208 on the exterior surfaces and 9 oz on the inside. There will be some carbon inlays at high stress and attachment points. There’s a few other parts I’m thinking of doing in carbon or similar.
My brother is a cabinet maker. He produces “furniture in white” which he sells to a foundation that has handicapped people do the final finishing and marketing. Their work is becoming quite popular and he needs the router to keep up with demand. He’ll be put to work building the internal furnishings and fixtures for the boat too! He’s got the money and I got the CAD skills!
