Wax residue from mold over the part problem

Hi

I got a wax residue over my part, same problem over 2 mold. 1 is a normal epoxy gelcoat and the second an mdf plate. I apply wax over it, the Partall paste wax #2. I apply it with some scott towel that i rub in circle, let say.

I do simple 2 ply layup with resin that i pour over and vac bag with bleeder and so…

Now i need to bond the bottom part, that was facing the mold and there’s a kind
of: wax film all over. If i sand directly it clog all the sandpaper. Just pass your nail and you see the mark over.

So how can i removed the wax from the part ?

And Why do i had this issues? Is it because i should used an airtech Safelease over the wax or it’s just not buff enought…? Or just pour over some pva…

Just use a solvent like MEK. Acetone will work but it might damage the surface of your substrate. Also make sure you use 2 cloths, one soaked in your solvent and the other one clean and dry. Use the one with solvent to dissolve the wax, then the other clean one to wipe the surface dry.
