Warping/Bowing of Carbon Fiber Trunk

The trunk on my car is bowed and I was wondering if there is any way to fix this? Can I add reinforcements to straighten it or is it screwed forever? Pictures are attached to show the warpage.

Does it have an internal rib structure?

If not, you may be able to create a jig to push it back into the correct place, then use a combination of stiffeners and reinforcement to make it stay there. It’s not easy to do though, making jigs is a skill in its own.

To be honest , it will be easier to make a new one than it would be to fix that one .

It does have an internal skeleton to support it. I got it for a steal but I had the thought that if I wanted it to be straight that I would have to make one.

It may be possible to cut the internal structure at key places, refit the decklid, and repair the structure in the proper position. However it will be a decent amount of work, and depending on your skill level, it may not be a success.

That idea crossed my mind. Would I just have to find the crest of the bow and cut, then create a jig or something to flatten it while I repair the structure?

yea, you could make a jig from wood using the original decklid. Basically some stringer that have the correct profile. cut your frame, clamp it to your jig and repair the structure. Generally this could work, but I suspect you could get a poor surface that wouldn’t be truly flat after; lines at the bend points. You could go a step further and resurface the layer of carbon by overlaying after repairing the shape, but this is probably becoming much more work than its worth though. but if its just a personal project, its a good way to practice and learn. Best of luck
