Hi all,
I need to source 60m2 of 150gsm T800 dry fibre.
I am also needing 50m2 of 300gsm T800 dry fibre.
Preferably from a UK or EUR supplier.
Any ideas please!
Many thanks, Jim

We are now able to supply fabric/prepregs made from toray T800SC-24K fibers. Please let me know if you need any.
You can email me for further info: neal@cacomposites.com
as above a pretty rare fiber especially to find on the rack somewhere. You aren’t very specific about what type of materials you are looking for, ie woven, unis ect.
The only place I know of that has it selling cut yardage is fibermax composites in Greece. They have 200g twill and 280g 5 harness satin. Other than that your best bet is talking to a supplier with good contacts about having some made. You’ll probably need to be flexible and be willing to take something with similar properties like Hexcel IM7. You’ll probably struggle to find anything in the 150g range on the shelf as the t800 comes in 6k as it’s smallest size.
My apologies!
I am in need of Unidirectional T800 150gsm & Uni 300gsm fibre. The yacht that I need to repair is mostly T800 prepreg… Instead of adding a minimum 30% more fibre to make up the difference, I am hoping to source the correct fabrics to do the smaller repairs in wet lay.
I am willing to re-spec the 150gsm to 300gsm T700… but I’d love to find a good roll of IMC 300 UD dry fabric.
Even IM7 falls short of the ultimate properties of T800… Within the original spec for the yacht I did a study into the difference between the IMC groups and T800 was the superior base material for our requirements. IM8 is outside the rule as the modulus is too high.
I’d like to source some T700 woven fabrics too, RC300 & 200…
I have had the same “Impossible to source” reactions from every angle that I have tried so far…
I would rather do all the repairs in prepreg… but management has other ideas.
I understand you, why you need to look for t800 fibres, but if you use a wet lay up even with vacuum assistance, you´d likely not have the same modulus in your laminate due to different resin weight content.
May be use Tenax IMS 65 instead, here is something really close 194g/m²http://shop1.r-g.de/item/CE-194127-UD-IM
Mmmmh, t700 woven fabric should be readily available, look here http://www.ecc-fabrics.de/en/request I could imagine sigmatex as that stuff, too. http://www.sigmatex.com/contact/
or at the r-g shop, there must be some Kind.
I hope this helps.
Thanks to everyone for the leads, we have sourced the correct fabrics, through a network of suppliers and contacts working hard and even pulling in favours.
We have begun test coupons, and the Vf supplied by design is 45%… So once that is signed off we will have a “approved repair method” with wet out metered and vac stack & temperature controlled for consistant quality.
If you still need it I might be able to help you.
