I currently use a standard female mold but I want to get a heated male/female mold heated metal mold made.
Where do I start? Do I need to get my part scanned and then made into tooling?
Anyone know of a supplier/company that will help me through this process?

I have a 3D scanner where I can scan the mould and surface it…please bear in mind your costs for doing this are pretty up there. Part needs to be high volume, there several different ways to heat it also…
If the part you’re thinking of is not going to be made in qty’s more than 250 to 300 than you might want to reconsider. The only time we see work like this on runs less than that is because the part itself is selling for high $$ and the margin affords it.
If it is a really small part, you can get it scanned, surfaced and then use protolabs to make a mould on their CNC’s but the envelope size is small, something like 10"x10"
