VER >>> Air dry or not with secondary bonding?

I’m unsure if I should use and air dry in some VER that I want to add a clear coat to once it’s done.

Is it possible to add air dry and then just scuff the finished surface and spray with clear? or is the whole point of air dry so that you don’t have to do any surface prep when wanting to apply something such as a clear coat?

air dry is so that the resin cures to a tack free surface
If you are wanting to do any secondary bonding you need to sand ALL of it off. Especially if you’re going to apply a clear coat.

Duratec Clear top-coat is different though, sometimes I will spray that over top of still tacky resin let cure wetsand and buff to the final finish. No airdry used as the duratec cures tack free and bonds well to VER and PER resins.

excellent, is this particular coating meant as protection from
the elements?
