Vacuum infusion without flow media

I’m just curious if it is possible to infuse small, thin part without flow media. Will the absence of flow media only decrease flow speed or are there any other related issues?

it will increase infusion time like crazy. But yes, it is possible, and possibly help get all the carbon tows fully saturated.

Sometimes I’ll tacky tape a piece of spiral wire loom to my resin feed line, and just manipulate it through the bag if there are any spaces that look like they are not getting saturated. Once resin gets on the loom, it’s easy to push and pull it where you need it to go. Keep a big pleat down the center of the bag so you can manipulate the line off of the part and tuck it into the pleat once it’s done infusing.
