Vacuum Infusion Setup

I just got the Robinair 15600 pump and tested it with my old vacuum guage. The guage only read 26in Hg. I need to buy a new vacuum guage and a vacuum switch. Does anyone know of a good place (cheap) to buy them? How important is the pressure pot if I am already hooking up the pump to a PVC reservoir?

Thanks for the help.

Try your local areospace supplus dealers. If you are located in So. Calif. (your bio does state where you are), I can help you on several places. If not, they might ship to you but no guantees.

The pressure pot (can be had cheaply @ Ebay, swap meets and other places) will last you a life time as for the PVC, it will work for a short time.

Make sure it’s a oil gauge and not water gauge. Oil ones tend to be more acurate, especially when you get up in the high 27-30" range. Did you purchase the pump new? If not then how do you know the problem is with the gauge?

Evan

The pump is new and would only pull about 26.5 in Hg. I hooked the vacuum gauge on one end of the hose and the inlet of the pump on the other. I changed the oil just to make sure it wasn’t contaminated. I still got the same reading. The gauge is a cheap and came with my first pump. Once I buy a better gauge I will know for sure if it is the pump.

Would this switch work for infusion?

If not whats a good place to find one? There are no places around here in Texas to buy any supplies.

Thanks

That switch looks like it would work. I think DannyHockkin was looking for something similar to that also.
