vacuum bagging question

I recently did my first vacuum bagging project. It was a flat panel of carbon/kevlar. I waxed up glass with mirror glaze before laying materials. The process went good in my eyes( as far as evacuating the excess epoxy.) The problem that i ran into was after I released it from the glass it began to haze up. My question is how did this happen and what can I do to fix it on my next time around?

Thanks
Matt

could you post pics? could be just wax that transfered from the glass to the part. i have to wax my glass a lot after every pop because the wax does not stick to the glass as good as it does to resin or gel coat

also what resin were you using?

I’m using fiberglast epoxy system 2000. If it is just wax can I just buff it off? Any suggestion would be great. I will try and take pics as soon as I can. I have another piece under vacuum right now that I will be releasing today. I will let you know how that one turns out.

Some Epoxys will Blush on the surface.

is ther any way to fix and or prevent this?

Change the resin matrix or fine sand & top coat with automotive PUR clear or wood making clear coats.

Just unbagged 2nd attempt and 100% better. I think that since I had minor leak on 1st attempt its didn’t have proper vacuum even though gauge said 27 in hg. No leaks this time and the finish looks like glass. Thanks again for all the information. I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

no matter how big or small we always like to see finished product pics!!

i’ll try and take pics as soon as i can. Right now all I have is flat panels that are going to be made into a custom air box on my 99 si. Oh yeah Dual twill did you ever get that dual twill kevlar instock. I would really like to pick some up?
