vacuum bag pulling reinforcement off the buck

During my last vacuum bag run, I had a part that is essentially a box with rounded corners. I am using sealed Styrofoam bucks that I eventually melt out with acetone/ lost mold process. when I vacuum bag the part on the Styrofoam buck, it pulls the laminate off the buck and wrinkles it where the two sides of the vacuum bag meet. I’m sure a caul plate would fix this but I picture it leaving its own lines where it ends.
I’ve also thought about cutting my peel ply and breather so that it wraps entirely around the part rather than forming a sandwich with the vacuum bag. perhaps something flexible, like a strip of flexible kitchen cutting mat/board on the sides on top of the breather? any suggestions?
