Urethane foam mix

How many gallons of A - B urethane foam mix would it take to produce a full car body size plug? medium size car… say a corvette size car for reference purposes.

I’m won’t copy their body look or design although it looks pretty awesome. What is that orange and white frame rig around the car in the video?

I’d love to build a car from scratch… but this is what i don’t like… fake kits that use an almost complete donor car. But I can appreciate the work.

oh look, it’s a Lotus! lol only people who know the Lotus will understand that little joke hehe.

I’m always curious like how to design the inner frame to support the doors, door latches, inner door frames. How do you design a durable, good door design and hanging system, and then hide it all so it looks like something that rolled off an assembly line? I know anyone can buy the “Lamborghini” door hinge systems for a few hundred bucks ( if you like lambo doors).

maybe one of these guys knows

Interesting videos and CNC cutters.

I figured out how to mold the door openings… probably a single mold for the opening around the door, bond that part onto a rocker panel molding. the door opening mold would include a transition to the dashboard so the dash acts like a structural part supporting the door openings where the hinges mount. Much like a factory assembly line car does. Behind the front door opening a steel tube frame will be there to mount the door hinges onto… so the hinges won’t mount to fiberglass or cf… just the bolts will go thru the composite part. I think for the inside of the door… the door skeleton will have a metal plate or thick carbon fiber plate ( 1/2" thick) that will be epoxy bonded to the inside of the door skeleton. Drill 3 oversize hinge munting holes for the bottom and the top hinges so the door gap and spacing can be adjusted during assembly.

I’m not sure if i would want Lambo style door hinges or just normal swinging hinges.

So far it is looking like A LOT of molds to build the doors, dash, and rocker panel and door surrounds. But if I sold 3 full body kits it would pay for the cost to build the molds.

Anybody have good suggestion for car make/model of door latch set that bolts inside of the door? Smooth latching that doesn’t require much force to latch the door closed.
