Interesting videos and CNC cutters.
I figured out how to mold the door openings… probably a single mold for the opening around the door, bond that part onto a rocker panel molding. the door opening mold would include a transition to the dashboard so the dash acts like a structural part supporting the door openings where the hinges mount. Much like a factory assembly line car does. Behind the front door opening a steel tube frame will be there to mount the door hinges onto… so the hinges won’t mount to fiberglass or cf… just the bolts will go thru the composite part. I think for the inside of the door… the door skeleton will have a metal plate or thick carbon fiber plate ( 1/2" thick) that will be epoxy bonded to the inside of the door skeleton. Drill 3 oversize hinge munting holes for the bottom and the top hinges so the door gap and spacing can be adjusted during assembly.
I’m not sure if i would want Lambo style door hinges or just normal swinging hinges.
So far it is looking like A LOT of molds to build the doors, dash, and rocker panel and door surrounds. But if I sold 3 full body kits it would pay for the cost to build the molds.
Anybody have good suggestion for car make/model of door latch set that bolts inside of the door? Smooth latching that doesn’t require much force to latch the door closed.
